MANILA – The University of Santo Tomas Singers (USTS) brought home the trophy after winning the Choir of the World Champion of Champions title organized by the Llangollen International Musical Eisteddfod in the United Kingdom last July 8.

They made history when they made the very first three-peat win in the said competition.

The multi-awarded UST Singers battled against 32 Choir of the World Champions from the Wales-based festival’s annual winners and was able to come out victorious.

They were voted on online and the requirement is that the voters must view all 32 winning performances before they select whio they think should be awarded with the “winning performance of all time”.

The University of Santo Tomas Singers won the 1995 Choir of the World and their winning piece was “Pok Pok Alimpako” by Francisco F. Feliciano and was conducted by Professor Fidel G. Calalang Jr.

They also won the 2010 Choir of the World Championship by singing “Her Sacred Spirit Soars” which was composed by Eric Whitacre and Charles Anthony Silvestri, conducted by Professor Fidel G. Calalang Jr. as well.

The Filipinos has exhibited excellence once again!
