Redmi 9 Power leaked ahead of December 17 launch

Redmi 9 Power, as seen in a rumored rendering of the device that released online, could have a quad camera on the back. The new rendering emerged since Xiaomi revealed the release day of the Redmi 9 Power on December 17. It is expected that the phone will come as a redesigned version of the recently released Redmi Note 9 4G, but also with minor modifications. The Redmi 9 Power appeared on the Play Store Supported Products site with the model number M2010J19SI prior to its official launch, which would be identical to the M2010J19SC model name associated with the Redmi Note 9 G that launched last month in China.

The rendering of the Redmi 9 Power was revealed by 91mobiles by Tipster Ishan Agarwal. The emerged rendering suggests that there is indeed a quad rear camera configuration on the handset, it’s unlike the Redmi Note 9 4G with triple rear cameras. However, as seen in the supposed rendering of the Redmi 9 Control, the rectangular-shaped lens hump layout and also the back panel design is very identical to the Redmi Note 9 4G.

Selling redesigned smartphones with small updates over an existing design is not a new Xiaomi tactic. Quite interestingly, we have seen this in the instance of the Indian version of the Redmi 9, which launched as a rebadged Redmi 9C with double rear cameras rather than keeping the latter’s tri cameras. The remainder of both Redmi 9 and Redmi 9C features is similar.

The rebranding of Redmi Note 9 G by specifying the Redmi 9 Power with product code M2010J19SI was indicated by the Play Store Enabled Devices site just a few days ago. This is very close to the Redmi Note 9 4G-associated M2010J19SC. Also, according to the Google page, both Redmi 9 Power and Redmi Note 9 4G bear the very same generic name ‘lime’.

Redmi 9 Power expected specifications:

6.53 Inch

Front camera

Qualcomm Snapdragon 662 SoC

Rear camera

48-megapixel+ 8-megapixel+ 2-megapixel

Android 10

128 GB

Battery capacity

1080×2340 pixels

It is speculated that the Redmi 9 Power has two storage options, 64 GB and 128 GB, all of which come with 4 GB of RAM as usual. Other requirements are still to be stated for the Redmi 9 Capacity. Although if this phone practically carries the very same Redmi Note 9 4G design, with the exception of the back camera configuration, a 6.53-inch full HD+ screen with a waterdrop – style, Qualcomm Snapdragon 662 SoC, and an 8-megapixel front camera may be included. The new smartphone can also hold the latest Redmi Note-series model’s 6,000mAh battery. In comparison, you can consider MIUI 12 to be on top of Android 10.
