The Apple AirPods Max are also the first over-ear headphones of the tech firm, so we are amazed with both the sound quality and noise cancellation so far, and we’re not completely convinced if the design and the omission of a 3.5mm audio port explain the hefty price tag.
Pros:
- Sound stage fantastically big
- Smooth Controls
- Well-balanced audio
Cons:
- No Audio Jack 3.5mm
- The Smart Case might not feel very safe,
- Very costly
Apple AirPods Max is by far the most highly awaited release of headphones in 2020, so they’re actually here after years of hype and gossip.
Through a press release published on the Apple Newsroom, AirPods were secretly announced. As per Apple, the AirPods Max, like the AirPods Pro, has ” Adaptive EQ, incredible high-fidelity audio, spatial audio, and Active Noise Cancellation “
The unconventional configuration of the Apple AirPods Max and its corresponding case have confused views since its introduction, but yet again when they released in 2016, the previous AirPods did so.
Apple AirPods Max Design:
The Apple AirPods Max comes with a clean style, with sleekness and a stainless steel construction which is common of the tech giant. They available in a multiple stylish colors, such as space gray, silver, green, pink, and sky blue.
The headband is crafted of a quilted mesh fabric, that is “crafted to manage weight by reducing on-head pressure” according to Apple. Although the appearance of the fabric headband isn’t completely on offer, we can’t argue that the AirPods Max looked easy to wear.
The headband structure is indeed made out of stainless steel, so you can change the retractable arms to find a comfortable fit. The framework feels solid and well-made but the weight on your head is not so high.
The memory foam ear cushions sound pretty nice as well. Apple states that they are connected to the headband with a system that “balances and distributes ear cup pressure, and allows it to independently pivot and rotate to fit the unique contours of a user’s head”
To adjust the volume, you can easily turn the dial on the upper right earcup, or press one time to play/pause your music, press one time to answer and terminate phone calls, press two times to bypass to the next song, and press thrice to avoid backward.
A noise control button is also included in the right earcup that enables you to swap among noise cancellation and Transparency mode, which enables a few sound to cross via the headphones, whereas an Apple Lightning port for charging is housed at the lower part of the earcup.
What’s not provided is an audio port of 3.5mm. So if you’d like to hear with a wired connection, for an extra $35 / £35 (about AU$45) you’ll have to shell out for a Lighting to 3.5mm audio converter.
Apple AirPods release date and Max price:
It costs $549 / £549 / AU$899 for the Apple AirPods Max. They are now accessible for pre-order and will be launched publicly on December 15, 2020.
Fortunately, predicted supply problems indicate that whether you purchase from the Apple Store or third-party stores, you can wait to get the AirPods Max until the end of the year.
The price makes the AirPods Max much more pricey than most of the best in the market over-ear headphones.
